Board Spotlight: Jacob Traverso, FlaSEIA Vice President
FlaSEIA Vice President | Solar Source
Jacob Traverso of Solar Source was elected Vice President of the FlaSEIA Board of Directors in 2026. A 2024 FlaSEIA Rising Star, he has built his career in Florida solar from the ground up, and he brings that hands-on perspective to the board.
“As Vice President, I want to strengthen consumer confidence and understanding in solar by promoting sound business and installation practices, and by helping build a knowledge base of success stories that shows homeowners and businesses what’s possible when solar is done right. I believe increasing consumer confidence and understanding is the key to the industry’s success.”
From Boardshorts to Renewable Energy
Jacob’s solar journey began in 2005, the day after he graduated high school, when he walked into a Central Florida solar company in boardshorts and flip-flops looking for work. By the next day, he had the job, diving into thermal solar pool heating. From there, he worked his way through nearly every side of the industry, as an installer, service technician, sales rep, and business owner, before joining Solar Source, where he now runs operations.
Shaping the Future of Solar
Jacob’s work has taken him from small residential installs to large-scale projects, including the 2 MW solar carport at Tampa International Airport with Solar Source. Beyond his technical expertise, he is passionate about helping others succeed. As a coach outside of solar, he brings that same energy to his work today, mentoring young professionals, motivating teams, and helping others grow along with the industry. “The most fulfilling part of my job isn’t just completing projects, it’s helping others grow in their careers and succeed in the industry,” says Jacob.
Leading FlaSEIA
As Vice President, Jacob brings an installer’s practical view to the board’s work, along with a focus on the people and workforce behind Florida’s solar industry.
